Content Management Systems

Content management systems (CMS) or content services provide a hub for all intranets, employee portals and web-based platforms for accessing all relevant content. This includes static pages in the intranet, news, events, templates or the presentation of contacts, services and processes. For this purpose, Microsoft Office 365 and Microsoft SharePoint offer numerous services for publishing, regulated communication as well as content and document management. In addition to official top-down information, personalised news and updates are intelligently compiled for each user.

Since content management systems are the basis for an intranet, they are the linchpin of every project. We were able to gain experience across all sectors. For example, a social intranet was realised, maintained and further developed for Roland Berger in the service sector. Alight also works with many companies in the automotive, production, public service, energy or medical technology sectors, among others. One of our projects in the pharmaceutical industry is the intranet of PIERIS Pharmaceuticals GmbH. Here we developed a holistic intranet adapted to PIERIS. In addition, we support and train the employees – personally or in specially created video clips, our Info Bites. Alight agile working methodology

Through the combination of an agile approach and an eye for the big picture, we achieve a high level of security for our customers in all projects that we implement, that the project can be successfully implemented and operated in the long term. Furthermore, Alight takes great care to realise projects flexibly and in a way that can be expanded in the future. This agile approach enables us to react quickly to changes in the project. If required, we also support our customers with in-house development of solutions, apps and interfaces with combined Alight consultant and nearshore teams.

Technologies & Tools

As a platform for intranet projects, we use Microsoft SharePoint Server 2019 (+ migration from all previous versions) as well as Microsoft SharePoint Online and OneDrive. Collaboration tools include Microsoft Teams, Planner and Microsoft Office Suite. For publishing content, Microsoft Stream for videos and Yammer as a social network are used. Other technologies we use to implement our projects include Azure Services, Microsoft Dynamics, the Microsoft Power Platform with Power Apps and Power Automate, connections to SAP, various document management systems, modern web technologies and client-side scripting (JavaScript, React, NodeJS, AngularJS).

During implementation, we work closely with our partners and their tools, which enable us to realise modern and flexible intranet and portal solutions even faster. These include applications such as Valo Intranet, Powell 365 and the Powell Manager, WEBCON BPS, Nintex, Solutions2Share Collaboration Manager and Sintel Forms.
